St Ives High School is a proud, co-educational, comprehensive government high school situated in the picturesque upper North Shore of Sydney. As of 2025, our local enrolment area includes the suburbs of St Ives and parts of Turramurra. Our strong community reputation and the success of our students have led to increasing enrolment demands in recent years.
Our school is a vibrant and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to thrive. Whether their passions lie in academics, sports, or the arts, we are dedicated to nurturing their skills and celebrating their achievements.
We maintain a strong focus on quality teaching and rigorous academic programs, setting high expectations for student effort, achievement and personal bests. Our results speak for themselves, with the average HSC score consistently above state levels and those of similar schools and our NAPLAN Value-Add results in the Excelling range.
At St Ives High School, we offer personalised learning pathways, supported by our highly regarded Alumni Coaching Program that assists Stage 6 students in achieving their goals. All Year 11 students benefit from coaching and Year 12 students can opt-in for additional support.
We are proud to be global leaders in evidence-based student peer coaching, with our unique ‘Students Coaching Students’ program pairing Year 9 students with Year 7 peers to facilitate a smooth transition to high school. Our program has garnered international recognition, including invitations to share our successes through networks such as CollectivED at Leeds Beckett University in the UK.
Our diverse curriculum fosters talent development in sports and the creative arts. We offer a rich array of extracurricular activities, including our Talented Athlete Program (TAP) and the rebranded Music, Acting, Dance – Extracurricular (M.A.D.E) program for 2025, featuring bands, ensembles, choir, and after-school classes in dance and musical theatre.
Creativity flourishes at St Ives, as evidenced by our traditional musicals and the original musical film, Plan B, released in 2023, which was a remarkable achievement during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Our Diverse Learning faculty, which includes a hearing Support Unit with a newly established Autism class, ensures that all students receive individualised support tailored to their needs. Additionally, St Ives High School hosts the Northern Sydney Intensive English Centre, welcoming newly arrived students to immerse themselves in English language and culture.
We celebrate our multicultural community through events like Harmony Day and Multicultural Day, promoting cultural diversity and inclusivity. Our dedicated staff, comprising highly experienced educators and curriculum developers, are committed to making learning engaging, relevant, and rigorous for all students.
We are fortunate to have strong support from our proactive Parents and Citizens (P&C) organisation, which plays a vital role in fundraising and school initiatives. Our facilities include extensive sporting fields, a trade training centre, and a newly completed Sports Centre with multiple indoor courts and a fitness lab. Exciting infrastructure projects are underway, including the construction of an additional indoor sports centre.
At St Ives High School, we take immense pride in our students and their achievements, celebrating their successes through newsletters, morning teas, and assemblies. We are truly delighted to welcome your children to our school community.
