Creative arts
In creative arts, students discover a variety of art forms through a study of dance, drama, music and visual arts. When studying the creative arts, students learn to appreciate, compose, listen, make and perform.
English
English is inspiring, fun and exposes young minds to new ideas. It empowers students to be literate, articulate and to have a voice in their community.
Human Society and its Environment (HSIE)
In HSIE, our goal is to engage, inspire and challenge students into thinking about their role as citizens in the modern world.
Languages
Language study allows students to develop communication skills, learn about languages as systems and explore the relationship between language and culture.
Mathematics
Mathematics forms the foundation of much of our society: it is an essential part of finance, design, science, technology and construction. At St Ives High School we introduce all students to each of these aspects of Mathematics.
Personal Development Health and Physical Education (PDHPE)
St Ives High School’s Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) involves students learning about and practising ways of maintaining active, healthy lifestyles and improving their health status.
Science
All teaching and learning programs meet the requirements of the NSW Science Syllabus for the Australian Curriculum and provide students with the necessary scientific knowledge and skills to have a better understanding of the world around them.
Technological and applied studies (TAS)
In St Ives High School students develop knowledge, understanding and skills through a design and production process using a range of tools, materials and techniques in TAS theory and practical lessons.
Vocational Education and Training (VET)
Students in St Ives High School gain hands on training and develop industry based skills in their chosen area of study which focuses learning on practical competency based training and assessment.
