Personal Development Health and Physical Education
St Ives High School’s Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) involves students learning about and practising ways of maintaining active, healthy lifestyles and improving their health status. PDHPE is also concerned with the social and scientific understandings of movement.
In high school, the focus is on improving performance through the adaption, transfer and improvisation of movement skills and concepts. The thrill of the movement, the satisfaction of getting the skill right and the feelings of success when you make the right decision at the right time are the outcomes for which we aim.
At high school in PDHPE students will also explore questions in relation to safe, active and healthy lifestyle choices, respectful relationships, identity, belonging and change.
