Reporting absences

Parents of children from year 7 to Year 12 must ensure their children attend school every day. On occasion, your child may need to be absent from school. Justified reasons need to be provided within 7 days.

Late arrivals and absences

A medical certificate for absences of more than 3 days can be emailed or handed into school office.

Early leave request

Families are encouraged to plan appointments outside the school hours. On occasions where this is not practicable, a request should be communicated before 8:50 am on the day of the appointment to the school by:

For medical/dental appointments, a letter of attendance maybe required.

Students are not to leave school grounds without prior permission.

The school will authorise the early leave if it meets the Department of Education guidelines. Students will be issued with a leave pass from the school for the designated time. Junior students are to be collected from the school office by parents or guardians.

Please note that frequent requests for student early leave from school will be addressed through a parent meeting with the school.

Leave requests lodged after 8:50 am will be referd to a Deputy Principal for approval. A Deputy Principal may not be available to approve the leave.

If there is a family emergency, please call the school and we will support you and your child to make the appropriate arrangements.

Extended leave request (travel leave)

For all Extended Leave requests (Travel Leave), parents or guardians must first email the office at least 1 month prior to travelling.

A staff member will be in contact upon receiving your request.

Wet weather and Thursday Grade Sport

Students in Years 9 and 10 attend Grade Sport on Thursdays, every week. This is part of the mandatory PDHPE curriculum, with options for both competitive (grade) and recreational activities. Attendance is compulsory.

In cases of Wet Weather and sports ground closures, the students will attend indoor/ in classroom school activities until when they are dismissed at 2:30 pm.

Families of years 9 and 10 are encouraged to plan appointments after 2:30 pm on Thursdays.

Illness and misadventure during exams/assessments

If a student in years 11 and 12 miss a formal assessment,  they can apply for an illness/misadventure application.
