(Under Construction: question submission timeline for misadventure form)
Years 11 and 12 attendance
If a student in years 11 and 12 miss any assessment, they can apply for an illness/misadventure application where illness/misadventure:
- occurred immediately before (i.e. the day of or possibly evening before) or during an exam
- was unexpected and beyond control
- prevented the student from attending OR diminished their exam performance.
The student must inform the school immediately, complete an illness/misadventure application and submit to the relevant faculty Head Teacher immediately upon return to school if unwell or as soon as possible after experiencing a misadventure.
Applications must:
- be written by the student, with the student outlining how they are affected (Section A). A parent can only apply on the student’s behalf if the student is incapacitated.
- include advice from a relevant independent expert, like a doctor or police officer, to show why the student couldn’t attend or was affected on the day of an assessment (Section B). Evidence must be in regards to the student.
- relate to the specific day of an assessment as illness/misadventure does not cover lost preparation time or events that occur in the lead-up to an exam.
- be submitted by the student to their relevant faculty Head Teacher as soon as possible. Any application received after a student has knowledge of their mark and/or rank cannot be approved.
