Uniform
When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community. Learn about our uniform and where to buy it.
Our school uniform
Our students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community, helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:
- meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation
- includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics
- is appropriate for the full range of school activities
- is suitable for all body shapes.
Our school uniform requirements
St Ives High School students are required to wear the correct school uniform to uphold our high standards and to promote our school to the community in a positive way.
Wearing the correct school uniform, including shoes, ensures that students meet Work Health and Safety (WH&S) requirements in practical classrooms and work areas.
It is the responsibility of each student to observe the uniform guideline.
- The correct PE (sport) uniform must be worn when participating in PE/GYM classes and/or Gala days. This includes the school sports cap or bucket hat.
-
Shoes - Should be all black, all leather and laceup (black laces) in the traditional school style.
- Heels should be no more than 4cm high. Runners, buckled, slip-on or open "ballet" style shoes are not permitted for WH&S reasons.
- Thongs are not permitted at school at any time.
- On Mufti Days students must comply with WH&S regulations and wear covered shoes.
-
Socks - All students to wear plain white socks without logos either covering the ankle or mid calf length.
- black socks may be worn only under trousers/pants.
Students who do not produce satisfactory evidence in writing (ie. note from home) regarding deficiencies in uniform, will be placed on uniform detention duties.
