Student opportunities and activities

At St Ives High School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

After School SRC Tutoring Initiative

Senior students will be volunteering to tutor their peers and/or be tutored in the library after school on Wednesdays from 3.15-4.15pm. Contact school for more information.

Badminton Club Training

Team training every Monday 7:00 am in the sports hall. (This team is now full)

Band and ensembles

The St Ives High School band program has been established to give students the attention needed to build successful bands and ensembles with performance and learning opportunities across all musical genres. The program currently consists of Concert Band, Stage Band, String Ensemble, Vocal Ensemble and various Rock Bands.

Bootcamp

Each Friday morning, starting at 7:30 am, we have a group of around 50 students and staff who undertake a series of exercise challenges. Each session is tailored to suit all participants with the main focus being on moving and having fun.

Dance Ensemble

Every Tuesday morning in the Fitness Lab between 8 - 8:50am. For those interested in learning how to dance or polishing up their skills.

Duke of Edinburgh

Duke of Edinburgh is a worldwide activities program where participants, aged 14 or more select and set objectives in each of the following areas: volunteering, physical activities, practical and social skills and expeditions.

Jewish Lunchtime Group

Everyone is welcome to join the Jewish lunchtime group which meets every week on Wednesdays. Bring your lunch.

JOLT Christian Lunchtime Group

Everyone is welcome to come along to the weekly Christian group on Fridays. Bring your lunch.

Peer leaders

Peer leaders are Year 10 students who apply in Year 9, and take part in a program to guide Year 7 students in their first year of high school.

Robotics

Our specialist, competition winning robotics program is open to students of all levels. Robotics club meets each Tuesday lunchtime.

Run Club

Tuesday morning RUN CLUB meets at 7:25 am at the Yarrabung Road gates for a 7:30 am start. All year groups are welcome. Bring runners and comfortable gear to run, jog, or walk in.

Saints Volleyball

Juniors and senior teams. Before and after school training is available. Please see PDHPE office for more information.

Student Representative Council (SRC)

Our SRC team develops student leadership and teamwork skills. Student leaders work together to achieve goals, build school spirit and promote social responsibility. The SRC is open to junior and senior students (years 8-12). The SRC includes the captains and vice captains, and representatives from each year group, voted by their peers.

Theatresports

Theatresports is open to all new students (Years 7-10) every Friday at Lunch.
