There are some costs associated with going to school that you may find it helpful to plan and budget for.
Costs to consider include:
uniforms
school books and equipment
excursions
- co-curricular activities.
Voluntary school contributions
Like all NSW public schools, we can request contributions to enhance our educational and sporting programs including elective subjects. School contributions help provide additional educational resources for the benefit of students. Payment is voluntary.

School contributions
Payment for excursions, school fees, instrument hire, etc. should be made to the office either:
- Online (preferred)
- Credit card (Visa/Mastercard/keycard) via EFTPOS machine at school front office)
- Cash (see note below)
- Cheque (see note below)
NOTE: If paying by cash please tender the correct amount as the office does not carry change. Please place payment (cash or cheque) in an envelope with student's name, roll class, details of the payment (excursion name or fees etc.) and the amount enclosed.
Cheques should be made payable to ‘St Ives High School'.
The school has an EFTPOS machine to simplify school payments by credit card or similar.
Cash cannot be withdrawn via this method.
About my contributions
Parent contributions requested at the beginning of each school year go towards:
- the cost of textbooks (or similar) when supplied to students and the maintenance of these books
- the cost of materials for electives chosen
- hiring of buses, physical education/sporting equipment and maintenance of same
- the printing of examination papers, handouts in various subjects and other matters, to students (costs of paper, inks), paper for senior exams
- purchase of library books and items to contain and maintain them
- purchase of software for school computers, and a contribution to items of a capital nature including computers, photocopiers and audiovisual equipment
- use of the internet, paper, printing cartridges, and so on.
Financial assistance
If you are unable to pay school contributions because of financial hardship, you may be eligible for assistance from the school.
Our principal will ensure no student or family suffers any discrimination or embarrassment over the inability to pay school contributions.
